Unexpectedly it happened….

To me….

Thats what I wrote in previous years… a love poem frequently referred to, in hopes of recapturing that moment once again.

Yet…. my social misconceptions of what I should desire hinder my ability to recognize my intuition and listen to what is screaming in my ear…. well my soul actually.

My roots run deeper everyday, mostly due to my pursuit of the wisdom of the Elders. My thirst is never quenched.

Is this new opportunity one to hinder or excel my progress.

It’s in time that I will hear the message.

"The current discourse on immigration is racism thinly veiled as hubris. Latinos, Latin Americans, Hispanic People or whatever name they choose are Native Americans. They are indigenous from the northern to southern tip of the Americas. Period. They speak Spanish only because of a murderous & enduring European colonial influence. If white people don’t like brown immigration into America they can feel free to take the very next boat back to Europe. I dare them to practice what they preach."

Finding an address on a map can be taken for granted in the age of GPS and smartphones. But centuries of forced relocation, disease and genocide have made it difficult to find where many Native American tribes once lived.

Aaron Carapella, a self-taught mapmaker in Warner, Okla., has pinpointed the locations and original names of hundreds of American Indian nations before their first contact with Europeans.

As a teenager, Carapella says he could never get his hands on a , depicting more than 600 tribes — many now forgotten and lost to history. Now, the 34-year-old designs and sells maps as large as 3 by 4 feet with the names of tribes hovering over land they once occupied…
